*Makes 5-6 big sticks*
*Ingredients:*
*For dough:*
– All-purpose flour – 2 cups
– Warm water – 3/4 cup
– Instant yeast – 1 tsp
– Sugar – 1 tsp
– Salt – 1/2 tsp
– Olive oil – 2 tbsp
*For cheesy topping:*
– Mozzarella cheese – 2 cups, shredded (grate it fresh for extra stretch)
– Butter – 3 tbsp, melted
– Garlic – 2 cloves minced OR 1 tsp garlic powder
– Dried parsley / mixed herbs – 1 tsp
*Method:*
*1. Make dough:*
Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit 5 mins. Then add flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead 6-7 mins until soft dough. Cover and rest 40-45 mins.
*2. Shape:*
Roll dough into a rectangle (about 10×12 inch) on a floured surface. Place on a greased tray.
*3. Flavor:*
Mix melted butter + garlic + half the herbs. Brush it all over the rolled dough.
*4. Cheese layer:*
Spread all the mozzarella cheese evenly to cover the whole dough. Sprinkle remaining herbs on top for that golden herby look like in your photo.
*5. Bake:*
Bake at 200°C / 400°F for 13-16 mins until cheese is bubbly, melted, and golden brown on top just like in your picture.
*6. Slice:*
Let it sit 2 mins, then cut into long sticks with a pizza cutter.
Serve hot with marinara sauce, ketchup, or garlic mayo — so cheesy and soft inside, crispy outside!
*Tip:* Don’t use pre-shredded cheese from a bag if you can — a block of mozzarella that you shred yourself melts way better and gives that stretch.
*1. Shred your own cheese:* Store-bought shredded cheese has anti-caking powder and won’t melt stretchy. Grate a block of mozzarella yourself.
*2. Don’t over-bake:* Take them out when cheese is golden like in your pic — 13 to 16 mins max. Over-baking makes cheese rubbery.
*3. Garlic butter on BOTH sides:* Brush butter + garlic under the cheese AND a little on top after baking — extra flavor and shine.
*4. Use parchment paper:* It stops cheese from sticking to the tray and makes cleanup easy.
*5. Cut with pizza cutter:* Don’t use a knife — it drags the cheese. Let cool 2 mins, then quick slice while cheese is still soft.
*6. For extra crispy bottom:* Bake on the lower rack of oven for last 2 mins.
*7. Reheat trick:* If they get cold, reheat in air fryer / oven at 180°C for 3 mins — microwave makes them soggy.
