Fudgy Chocolate Walnut

Rich, chewy, and packed with chocolate flavor, these Fudgy Chocolate Walnut Brownies have a soft, gooey center and crunchy walnut pieces throughout. They’re easy to make and perfect for chocolate lovers.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

1. Prepare the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.

2. Mix the Wet Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.

Add the eggs and vanilla extract. Whisk until the mixture is glossy and well combined.

3. Add the Dry Ingredients

Sift the flour, cocoa powder, and salt into the bowl.

Using a spatula, gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Don’t overmix—the batter should be thick and fudgy.

4. Add Chocolate and Walnuts

Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts, reserving a small handful of walnuts for the top if desired.

Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.

5. Bake

Sprinkle the remaining walnuts over the top.

Bake for approximately 22–28 minutes, or until the edges look set while the center still appears slightly soft.

Don’t overbake if you want a fudgy texture.

6. Cool and Slice

Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting. For especially clean slices, refrigerate them for 30 minutes before slicing.

Cut into squares and serve.

Tips for Extra Fudgy Brownies

  • Don’t overmix the batter after adding the flour.
  • Avoid overbaking—the center should still have a slight softness when you remove the brownies from the oven.
  • For an intense chocolate flavor, use Dutch-process cocoa powder.
  • Toast the walnuts for a few minutes before adding them for extra flavor.
  • For an even richer brownie, add extra chocolate chips to the batter.
